Blockboard is made by sandwiching a core of wooden strips or blocks between two layers of veneer. The strips (usually made from softwood like pine) are placed edge to edge and glued together, giving blockboard a lightweight yet sturdy structure.
Uses: Doors, tables, wall panels, and long bookshelves where bending resistance is required. Advantages: Lightweight, resistant to warping, and easy to cut or shape.
